As if we haven’t mentioned this enough already, another reminder here that we’ve been kindly asked by the Swn team to curate a stage at Dempseys on the Thursday night of Swn festival (October 21st). All the times for all stages/bands on the Thursday night are up on Swn’s Facebook page, but as far as our stage goes times are as follows:
KUTOSIS: 7:30pm – 8:15pm
Right Hand Left Hand: 8:45pm – 9:30pm
Among Brothers: 10pm – 10:45pm
Samoans: 11:15pm – Midnight
Yucatan: 12:30am – 1:15am
Half-hour changovers between each band, which makes life a lot less stressful for us, and gives you plenty of time to dart off inbetween to catch bands in other venues down Womanby Street if they take your fancy. If you don’t turn up, we’ll be forced out into the cold to flyer, so unless you enjoy the mental image of us freezing our tits off come along to our stage and help keep us in the warm and dry.
If that little guilt trip isn’t enough to convince you to show your face at Dempseys, we’ll be doing a blog post a day (starting Saturday and finishing Wednesday) about each of the bands playing our stage, along with exclusive tracks you’ll be able to stream up until Swn. All five tracks will be available on a super-limited edition compilation we’ll be giving away FOR FREE to the first 50 people savvy/keen enough to make it down early to our stage.
We’re into the 7-day countdown to Swn now and excitement/stress levels are rising in direct parallel…we literally can’t wait. Time to start stocking up on caffeinated products in preparation for what looks to be an excellent weekend of seeing bands, alcoholism, and catching up with old friends.
